BOMB & PHUB Status and Direction 2024

Going back to what worked in the past. Trying new things, quick releases.
PHUB revitalization with new use cases, more reasons to own it.
BOMB with 1,000,000:1 peg will be the focus, while the next fork is established. Previously available at ogbomb.com, now also available at our main site, app.bomb.money.

Intro & Announcement Info

This announcement has been in the works for about a month now, and over that time, it has developed its own history!

I recently (~January 18^th) had an epiphany, one that I am really excited about. I’ll go over my eureka moment in this post and explain the new mentality moving forward. Ultimately, this new mentality didn’t vastly change the direction I was planning on moving in the short term, but I think it will be greatly beneficial in the long term.

Changes from Original Announcement

I was going to speak about two main paints:

Plans with upcoming projects and how we will get the ecosystem energized, get PHUB moving, in detail.
Looking at the past two years and reflecting on what worked, what didn’t, mistakes, lessons learned, etc.

There is so much to say about the past two years, so many great achievements, but also many mistakes. I am going to leave the BOMB history and reflections for another post in the future.

My Eureka Moment

Around Jan 18^th I was thinking to myself. Thinking about what I had done to make BOMB successful. I was able to sum it up easily:

Experimenting with different ideas. Forking projects, making changes, iterating quickly, pushing something that works out in a matter of days not months. BOMB was a fun experiment that worked out super well.
Timing was great for BOMB, but ultimately, that is because of experimenting at the right time.

Since the release of BOMB, I had been working on many projects, and doing many tasks that are not my strength. I was willing to do anything to bring health to BOMB, such as BOMBBTC.com (centralized BTC staking platform), bomb.app, blum.finance, and more.

Examples of projects that I had an awesome time building and working on are:

BOMB
CZPEGS
Auto vaults
money (MIM fork)
BOMB Chain & protocols forked to launch on BOMB Chain

All these projects were lucrative (some exceptionally, some mildly), were challenging (but fun) to learn, and a blast to develop.

Let’s now compare the situation we have in front of us, with back when BOMB was released.

I have a ton more knowledge now, I was a beginner not long before BOMB. Both my solidity and front-end skills, along with overall market knowledge, has significantly improved!Many more connections now
We have a thriving community
Bull market is here, timing can be better than BOMB timing. BOMB came right at the end of the last bull cycle.

What does this all mean?

I strongly feel that I need to be doing things that I enjoy, things that I am good at, to be able to pump out projects that degens/investors will want to get involved in.

This means playing with many new forks, scoping out opportunities, and pouncing when we find a potential winner. Having an existing community to participate in new projects is a big bonus compared to BOMB – at the time I was an unknown developer with no credibility or community – but now I have both!

What you should expect to see:

Fast turnarounds on project dev ideas. I am not a “polish” type programmer, I am a get it done, make it work properly, and do it super quick guy! Any project that sees initial success, we can hire others to polish it. Much like we did with BOMB.
Fun launches of random stuff such as a meme coin on a random network, a big protocol launch, and everything in between.

Let’s throw PHUB in the mix!

I’m still ironing out all the details, but I’ve got a great way to make PHUB great again. Let’s define what would make PHUB great:

PHUB stakers earning new PHUB as they are bought back on the open market
PHUB stakers able to earn tokens from all these cool upcoming projects
PHUB voting to decide which projects get priority from the list of ideas

I believe that trifecta will be more than enough to get PHUB to our target of $10,000 and beyond in this upcoming bull market. It will only take some light marketing and a couple of the projects to take off to make this target a reality.

As I mentioned, I’m ironing out the details on how all of this will work. The voting aspect is simple, however, perhaps the way PHUB staking works (maybe should be a lock) could use some improvements.

In terms of PHUB holders earning tokens from upcoming projects, there are a few ways this could be done, real quick. Here are some ideas:

Stake PHUB in a “genesis farm” type pool, where you deposit PHUB, earn free tokens, and remove your PHUB and free tokens once it concludes. Very similar to TOMB fork genesis farms.
Same as above, but deposit the PHUB MAXI vault (PHUB staked) receipt token. This could be interesting if a new lock is introduced to staking, as the only ones who can receive these new tokens would need to have PHUB, and have it locked.
Could simply airdrop tokens to PHUB holders/PHUB MAXI stakers (this isn’t as fun)

Plan for Immediate Future

With the whole new thought process and mentality explained, our immediate future doesn’t change much from what I had originally planned.

Implement PHUB changes, get the word out on PHUB so others can enjoy the 1000x ride from here to $10,000!
bomb.money is the new home of OGBOMB.com. This is our new BOMB protocol with 1,000,000:1 peg. (Already done)
Improvements and additions to the new BOMB such as
- Add farming in addition to just bonding for B2SHARE
- Emissions reduced to a still lucrative, but maintainable level (this has been done)
- Look back at what additions to original BOMB were beneficial and implement them in the new BOMB protocol.
- Many other smaller improvements
Clean up our core websites (bombmoney.com, peghub.com) to clearly show our current direction and point investors to the right places. Make sure that these websites are simple and eliminate over-complicated messaging.
Decide details related to PHUB improvements mentioned above and implement them.
Get traction on SBOMB2
- Basic web improvements at sbomb.com
- Light marketing
- Community engagement via giveaways, buy competitions, games in TG, and more (open to ideas here)

Between now and End of Q1 2024

Finalize plans on a new fun and crazy take on “seigniorage”. Several great idea candidates for how we can accomplish this without depending on tokens being pegged, while keeping the protocol fun and lucrative. All the good of the tomb fork, minus the peg requirement. Win-win!

Private Investment

I have been, and still am, seeking private investment for BOMB – to fuel the new BOMB (OGBOMB.COM migrated to app.bomb.money) to become healthy, and provide a 3+ month runway for BOMB.

So far, I have found investors who are going to be helping OGBOMB become healthy, by buying up both BOMB and B2SHARES. This will put OGBOMB in a great state to start marketing it, and making a few additions to the protocol, including farms.

Some buys have already been put through, and more will continue to come. Buys were on hold while I was taking a break and getting this announcement together.
